Practical Test
You can take practical driving lessons before passing your Theory & Hazard Perception test, however, in order to book your practical Driving test you must be in receipt of a Theory Test Pass Certificate.
Your practical test will last around 45 minutes - during which time you will need to demonstrate that you can drive with confidence, competence and common-sense in a variety of driving situations.
Before starting the driving part of your test, your examiner will ask you some driving related questions. These are known as ‘Show me – Tell me’ questions. I will be able to prepare you for this part of the test.
During the test you may need to call upon anything, or everything, that your instructor teaches you and will be asked to carry out at least 2 of the reversing manoeuvres. In addition, you may be asked to carry out a controlled (emergency) stop.
In order to pass the test you must make no more than 15 minor driving errors and make no serious or dangerous errors. I will be able to advise you when you are ready for the test and will help you with any known difficulties you may encounter.
